Did you know that obtaining Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) for your business is free?
Mrs. Angel Fadahunsi is a Deputy Director at the Lagos Tax Payer Service Division of the Federal Inland Revenue Service. She leads a team of 12, responsible for ensuring that taxpayers in Lagos State have access to information, education, and services that would encourage voluntary compliance. She would be present to address relevant questions on taxation and provide taxpayer identification numbers for registered business names and companies.
Essentially, the FIRSÂ will be a part of this event to reach more entrepreneurs and small businesses. Reaching out to businesses in a neutral environment/non-threatening manner in order to encourage voluntary compliance, they will clarify any issues/questions on how to register, file tax returns and make payments. The organization also aims at obtaining useful information to enable them improve and tailor their services towards businesses.
To obtain their TIN, businesses are required to come with the following:
- Photocopy of Certificate of incorporation from CAC and original for sighting.
- Registered address with proof (Utility bill; PHCN, LAWMA, rent agreement etc.)
- Business address with proof; if different from registered address.
- Functioning e-mail address and GSM number.
