The Super Falconets played the Tanzanians on Saturday and would have been defeated, save a few missed opportunities, the Falconets, however, made away with 3 points after the game at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City. The Falconets found their first game quite easy, taking off with 3 goals against Tanzania pending their return leg in Dar es Salaam stadium come September 30th. After converting a free kick, Tule in the 22nd minute scored Nigeria’s first goal, and this was the beginning of the onslaught against Tanzania as it saw the team’s performance dwindle into the second half making room for Ajibade to score two more goals for Nigeria in the 52nd and 57th minutes. If Nigeria defeats Tanzania in the second leg, the team will proceed to the next round of the qualifiers to play either Senegal or Morocco in November. Coach, Christopher Danjuma has relayed his worries, stating that the qualifiers promise to be a tough one for the Falconets but he’s also very optimistic due to the calibre of players in the Nigerian team and has expressed unwavering trust in their performance.
