Nigerian national U-17 team will look towards booking a spot in the second round of 16 when they confront Ecuador today, October 29, 2019 in their second Group B tie at the ongoing 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.
The Manu Garba tutored side go into Tuesday’s game on the back of a moral boosting 4-2 victory against Hungary in their first group game on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at the Estadio Olimpico Pedro Ludovic, Goiania.

Saturday’s game saw the Nigerian side fight back to emerge victorious in the encounter after trailing the Hungarians twice. The heroics of team captain, Samson Tijani, who got a brace, and goals from Oluwatimilehin Adeniyi and Usman Ibrahim, was all Nigeria needed to edge out their Hungarian opponents in the opening game.

Ecuador also had to fight hard to win their first game 2-1 against the Australian U17 team. Victory in the second game will see the Golden Eaglets seal a spot in the second round. Five-time champions Nigeria will battle against their South American opponents at the Estadio Olimpico Pedro at 21:00hrs WAT.
