Fidelity Bank Plc has unveiled a security solution which would protect the bank’s Verve and MasterCard users. The bank made this known in a statement saying that the solution is applicable to all of its customers during online transactions.
Mr. Nnamdi Okonkwo, the Managing Director/CEO of the bank in his remarks said that the solution will help customers accomplish transactions in the area of airtime recharge, ticket booking and general shopping respectively. Customers, he said would be sent a one-time-password on their registered mobile phones to enhance security during transactions.
He explained that the solution would enable customers use the password to complete their transactions even via phone. Mr. Adedeji, the Divisional Head, Electronic Banking and speaking on behalf of Mr. Okonkwo noted that the initiative is in addition to the security system that the bank had already set in place which constantly checks customers’ transactions for unusual activities. He added, “Also our visa cards have iPIN which provides an additional layer of security when doing internet transactions. Fidelity Bank takes customers’ security banking transactions very seriously and we believe you should be cashless with ease while we take care of the small details.”
