A total of twelve players have made the cut for D’Tigers next set of games in the FIBA Men’s World Cup qualifying series to be staged in Lagos between the 14th and 16th of September.
D’Tigers head coach Alex Nwora made the selection, with the 12-man team expected to be in camp on the 6th of September.
Many of the selected players will be making a return to the team after two to three years of absence from the Nigerian senior men’s basketball team.
The star-studded team includes Portland Trail Blazers Al Farouq Aminu and Tecnyconta Zaragoza’s Stanley Okoye, who both made their last appearances for Nigeria at the 2015 FIBA Afrobasket championships, and the duo of Alade Aminu and Ekene Ibekwe, who both last played for Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

Benjamin Uzoh – Caballeros de Culiacan
Ikenna Iroegbu – Science City Jena
Bryant Mbamalu – Deportivo Valdivia
Obekpa Christopher – Al Riyadi
Emenago Obinna Clinton, Ikechukwu Nwamu and Akindele Ayodeji.
D’Tigers who currently head Group F on 12 points will play host to Senegal, Central African Republic, Rwanda, Cote d’Ivoire and Mali at the National Stadium, Surulere for the fourth window of the World Cup qualifiers.
