All is set for the second edition of the Business of Education, an annual education summit where school owners, administrators, directors, policy makers and education entrepreneurs converge to discuss and proffer solutions to issues and problems in Nigeria’s education system. According to Edusko Founder and event Convener, Jide Ayegbusi, this year’s edition will focus on the roles of school leaders, policy makers and technology in preparing our children for the future. “It is no longer news that we are currently preparing our students for jobs that do not yet exist, to use technologies that have not been invented in order to solve problems we do not even know are problems yet. While the first world seems to be far ahead, it seems we have not started scratching the surface,” said Ayegbusi. “What does it mean to be future ready? What roles will technology, school leaders and policy makers play to ensure that we adequately prepare our students for a future that is more unknown than at any time in history? This year’s summit will sufficiently answer these questions and provide the way forward in ensuring that the next generation of students our schools produce is future ready. Hence the theme: Future Ready Education: Roles of Policy Makers, School Leaders and Technology,” he said. On the speakers and participants, Ayegbusi continued: “We are expecting about 2,000 top school owners, directors, administrators, education entrepreneurs, policy makers and other key stakeholders in the Nigerian education sector. We have carefully selected our speakers and panelists to ensure everyone is impacted at the summit and beyond.” Expected speakers and panelists at the event are: FelaDurotoye, CEO, Gemstone Group; Niyi Yusuf, Country Managing Director, Accenture; Austin Okere, founder CWG Plc and Ausso Leadership Academy and Prof Fred Mcbagonluri, President, Academic City College, Ghana. Others are: Princess Sarah AdebisiSosan OFR, former Deputy Governor, Lagos State; Mark Brooks, founder Mark Brooks Education; Dr. Jennifer Smith, International Educational Consultant; Jordan Belmonte, Head of Education Programs, Microsoft and a few other education and technology leaders. The event, which is scheduled to hold on 25 October, 2018 at Nelo’s Place, 2, Tomi Osikoya Drive, Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja is free for all registered and invited participants.
