The Federal Government has declared three days as public holidays to celebrate the Christmas season and the New Year. It announced that the 25th of December, which marks Christmas Day, 26th December for Boxing Day and the 1st January, 2018 to celebrate the arrival of a New Year.
This was made known through a statement issued on Wednesday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Mr Abubakar Magaji after a declaration by the retired Lt- Gen Abdulrahman Dambazau, the Minister of Interior, on Wednesday, on behalf of the government.
Dambazau requested for all Nigerians to strengthen their resolve in maintaining the country’s peace and unity, even as he enjoined Christian faithful and all Nigerians to pray during this period for continued growth and development of the country.
