The Federal Government has declared Friday, May 29, 2015 as a public holiday to celebrate the 2015 Democracy Day. The Minister of Interior, Abba Moro made the declaration on Monday, on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Abubakar Magaji. The Minister urged Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to support the incoming government and pray for the success of Nigeria’s democratic process. He used the opportunity to congratulate President Goodluck Jonathan and Nigerians on the successful conduct of the 2015 general election. He also congratulated the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari on his electoral victory, and wished his administration “good luck”.
