The Federal Ministry of Education has unveiled a groundbreaking partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy to deliver comprehensive digital skills training across Nigeria’s educational landscape.

This nationwide initiative aims to empower Nigerian instructors and learners with essential contemporary competencies in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cutting-edge technological domains.

The digital skills training marks a significant step forward in closing Nigeria’s educational technology gap. Through widespread access to sought-after digital competencies and cloud credentials, the initiative ensures comprehensive inclusion of all educators and students in the transition to a digitally-driven economic landscape.

Program Highlights:

  • AWS Academy Learning Resources: Participants will receive access to premium educational materials from AWS, featuring practical laboratory sessions, cloud computing infrastructure, and professional certification tracks.
  • Successful Trial Implementation: Representatives from 43 Federal Universities and Polytechnics have been successfully integrated into the pilot program.
  • National Rollout: The initiative is expanding to encompass all federal, state, and private higher education institutions throughout Nigeria, including universities, polytechnics, and teacher training colleges.

Institutional Engagement: Educational institution leaders are encouraged to designate committed coordinators who will manage faculty enrollment and support student registration processes.

  • Complete Cost Coverage: Enhancing program accessibility, the Ministry will fund half of certification expenses while AWS underwrites the remaining portion, resulting in zero cost for all participants.
