The Super Falcons of Nigeria, on Saturday pulled a herculean stunt on their Nigerien parallel, 15-0 in their second game at the ongoing West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Cup tournament in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
Recall that in their first game of the West African showdown, the Falcons thrashed the Burkina Faso ladies 5-1 on Thursday.
The brilliant show of dominance by the Nigerian girls has yet again set them miles apart from their peers at the tournament.
Nigeria Vs Niger
The Falcons began the onslaught on Niger 9 minutes into the game, leaving no room for the opposing team to regroup as the game progressed.
At the end of the first half, the Nigerian team has scored 9 goals to none.
Many thought the second half would see the Nigeriens perform a pretty impressive comeback like Liverpool did against Barcelona last week.
However, that was not to be the case as the Falcons continued to dominate the one sided encounter with a more brilliant play and more goals.
The Falcons scored another six goals in the second half, taking a very well deserved 15-0 win against Niger.
With the win, Nigeria has now moved into the semifinal stage of the sub-regional competition, where they are expected to do battle with the Mali ladies for a place in the WAFU final.
The competition is the final phase of preparations for the Falcons before they begin their campaign at the 2019 FIFA Women World Cup, in France.
The World Cup will begin on June 7 and run through to July 7, 2019.
