Facebook has introduced video calling on its Messenger mobile application, enabling face-to-face conversations among users of the app around the world.
In a statement, Facebook said, “You can now quickly start a video call from any conversation with just one tap. If you’re chatting with someone and realize that words just aren’t enough, you can simply choose the video call icon in the top right corner of the screen and start a video call right away.”
This new feature has been launched for Apple and Android devices in Belgium, Britain, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, France, Greece, Ireland, Laos, Lithuania, Mexico, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, the US and Uruguay and will hit more countries over the coming months.
This is the latest feature released for Messenger, following the ability to send money to friends, the launch of Messenger Platform and the introduction of Businesses on Messenger (coming soon).
