Arsenal has added two more Nigerian players to their Europa league squad after they both signed their first professional contracts with the team.
According to UEFA’s official website, both players, Arthur Okonkwo and Bukayo Saka, who are England U18 internationals, have been declared eligible to represent the Gunners in the group stage of the Europa League.
Classed as U21 players in Arsenal’s team B list, goalkeeper Okonkwo will wear jersey number 86 for the Europa league, while Saka will wear number 87 kit if he gets a chance to feature for the team in the group stage of the tournament.
The other players of Nigerian descent earlier listed in Arsenal’s squad are defenders Tolaji Bola, Joseph Olowu and Tobi Omole.
The Nigerians will be joining Super Eagles international and Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi, as the London club prepares to take on Vorskla Poltava, Sporting CP and Qarabağ in Group E.
