Super Eagles skipper, Vincent Enyeama has been linked with a move to English football giants, Liverpool as replacement for underperforming Simon Mignolet. Liverpool coach, Brendan Rodgers seems to have lost patience with the Belgian shot stopper following a number of uncomfortable displays. Mignolet lost his place in the team after 3-0 loss to bitter rivals, Manchester United at Old Trafford in December after series of howlers. However, an injury to his replacement Brad Jones earned him a recall to the team. Rodgers’ lack of faith in Mignolet may be good news to Enyeama and his agents. Enyeama, 32, is valued at around £3million by current side, Lille Metropole OSC of France and is contracted to the club until 2017. He has been linked with a move to the English Premier League in the past and had a trial with Bolton Wanderers in 2004 whilst he was still with Enyimba International on the recommendation of former Super Eagles keeper, Austin “Jay Jay” Okocha. Enyeama won the best goal keeper in French Ligue 1 last year and narrowly lost to Ivorian Yaya Toure for the coveted African Player of the Year award last month.   About the Writer: Arinze Ude (@arturozinga) is an aspiring cancer research scientist with a master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences (Haematology).
