Super Eagles of Nigeria assistant captain, William Troost-Ekong, has hailed the impact of his international teammate Maduka Okoye on the Nigerian national team.Maduka Okoye is on his first competitive outing with the Super Eagles.

Okoye who is the first choice goalkeeper of the three-time African champions was impressive on his Africa Cup of Nations debut against the Pharaohs of Egypt on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, Nigeria’s opening game at the 2022 edition of the continental showpiece. Ekong hailed the 22-year-old while speaking to the official website of Watford FC.
“We had a few players making their debuts at AFCON including Maduka, who is a Watford player now. I think he’s been very consistent since he came in, which can be quite rare for a young goalkeeper.
