Golden-Eaglets-3-Sweden-3

Golden Eaglets’ mesmeric performance at the ongoing U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) continued on Tuesday when they defeated Sweden 3-0 to book a place in Friday’s final. The deadly duo, Kelechi Iheanacho and Taiwo Awoniyi, combined to give Nigeria 1-0 lead at halftime. During the second half, Awoniyi went from goal scorer to facilitator, assisting Samuel Okon and Chidera Ezeh for Eaglets’ second and third goal respectively. The Golden Eaglets are just a win away from lifting the U-17 World Cup trophy and have the Mexicans as the obstacle between them and trophy. Both teams met earlier in the competition, Nigeria running out 6-1 winners in Group F’s opening fixture. The Golden Eaglets will be hoping to repeat such performance against El Tri of Mexico on Friday. The match will be played at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium (Abu Dhabi). Kick off is at 4 p.m local time.
