Head coach of Nigerian national Under 17 football team, Manu Garba, has stated that his boys are geared up to win Nigeria’s sixth FIFA U-17 World Cup trophy at the 2019 edition in Brazil which kicks off on Saturday, October 26, 2019.

Five-time winners, Nigeria, are once again placed among favourites to clinch the title despite a fourth place finish at the 2019 Africa U-17 Cup Of Nations in Tanzania earlier this year. The Golden Eaglets are drawn alongside Hungary, Ecuador, and Australia, and will begin their World Cup campaign on Saturday, October 26, against the Hungarian U-17 team in Giaonia.

Everyone should get ready to see a fantastic Nigerian team that play great football and have the trophy in their sights…

Ecuador, Hungary and Australia are undoubtedly strong teams that we respect, but we are record-breaking world champions and I was involved in two of our title wins… The will to win every game is part of the DNA of every Nigerian team, and my team here in Brazil is no exception.

It will be recalled that Coach Manu Garba was assistant to Late Yemi Tella, who led the World Cup winning Eaglets in 2007, and was in charge of the 2013 victorious Eaglets in the United Arab Emirates.
