The Golden Eaglets rounded off the first round of the U-17 World Cup with a resounding victory over the Iraqi team on Friday.
They dismantled their opponents, running out 5-0 to finish as Group F Winners on 7 points with 14 goals scored and 4 conceded in just three games.
Musa Muhammed got the ball rolling in the fourth minute with a penalty kick goal. Few seconds later, he went from goal scorer to provider, settin up Chidiebere Nwakali for his team’s second.
Musa Yahaya scored a quick double to give Eaglets a 4-0 lead at half time. Chigozi rounded off the scores with the team’s fifth in the 90th minute.
Nigeria will take on Iran in their next game (Round of 16) on Tuesday at the Sheikh Khalifa International Stadium, Al Ain.
