Nigerian national Under 17 team, the Golden Eaglets, have arrived in the city of Giaonia, Brazil, which will serve as venue for two of their Group B matches at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup scheduled to commence from October 26, 2019 until 17th November, 2019.

The Nigerian side had hitherto set up camp in Sao Paolo for the past two weeks to conclude preparations for the global showpiece in Southern America. Nigeria’s Eaglets played three friendly matches in the course of their two weeks stay in Sao Paolo, losing 2-1 to the Sao Paolo U-17 team, 1-0 to the Japanese U-17 side, and had a 4-2 victory over South Korea.

Five-time world champions Nigeria will confront the Hungarian national U-17 side on Saturday, October 26, 2019 in Giaonia, in what will be their first game at the tournament. The Golden Eaglets will be up against the Ecuadorian U-17 team in the same venue on October 29, 2019, before leaving for Brasilia to wrap up their group games against Australia on November 1, 2019.

Coach Manu Garba, who is charged with the responsibility of winning Nigeria her sixth U-17 World Cup trophy, will also be seeking to add a second to his trophy cabinet after leading the Golden Eaglets to victory in the 2013 edition of the competition.
