The German tactician believes the team must start their qualification campaign on a winning note against Liberia on September 3, 2021, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos State, and must come out with a positive result against Cape Verde on September 7, 2021.
“We will be ready in September for the World Cup qualifiers. We have to start well in Lagos (vs Liberia) and four days later, we play in Cape Verde. Owing to COVID-19 regulations, the Super Eagles will play without key players such as Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Oghenekaro Etebo, William Troost-Ekong, Kelechi Iheanacho, and the likes of Emmanuel Dennis and Frank Onyeka, who all ply their trade in the English Premier League. Gernot Rohr would have to depend on the likes of captain Ahmed Musa, SSC Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, and a host of others to secure all six points.
