  Nigerian national female basketball team, D’Tigress, are set for action this weekend as preparations for the 2021 Olympics in Japan hits top gear. The Nigerian side which opened the second phase of camping on May 8, 2021, is currently in Belgium where it will play high profile games against Belgium, Puerto Rico, and Serbia.

The games which will hold at the Lange Munte arena, Kortrijk, will see the African Giants confront Puerto Rico today, Friday, May 28, 2021, before filing out against the world number 8 basketball side, Serbia. Coach Otis Hugely and his girls will complete their adventure in Belgium on Monday, May 31, 2021, against the Belgian basketball team. Currently, 13 players are in camp and are looking to give their all in a bid to get a place in the squad to Tokyo. The professionals in camp include Adaora Elonu, Ezinne Kalu, Sarah Ogoke, Aisha Balarabe, Promise Amukamara, Sarah Imovbioh, Amy Okonkwo, Atonye Nyingifa, Oderah Chidom, Nicole Enabosi, Ify Ibekwe, Victoria Macauly, and Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah.

D’Tigress which has established dominance on the African basketball court is drawn in Group B of the Olympic women’s basketball event and will confront hosts, Japan, France, and world champions, the United States.
