D'Tigers

D’Tigers won its final group game against Cameroon on Sunday, coming from behind to record a well deserved victory. The Nigerian Men’s Basketball team was without some key players who were missing due to injury, but had enough quality in its arsenal to shoot down the Cameroonians 91- 84. Ike Diogu stole the show once again, finishing the game with 25 points, 15 rebounds and 2 blocks. Cameroon went into the break with a slim 40-39 lead but D’tigers came back rejuvenated in the second period and fought for the win. Christian Bayang and Luc Mbah a Moute were at the top of the Cameroonian pack, amassing 20 points and 18 points respectively, but it was not enough to lead them to victory. The victory ensured D’Tigers topped its group and thus will take on the Central African Republic in the knock-out stages of the competition on Tuesday.
