As our economy continues to take a nosedive, South African Pay TV platform, DStv, has decided to slash the price of some of its decoders.
The platform, run by Multichoice, will also add value and additional channels to the already existing bouquet.
The DStv Explora decoder dish kit with a month Compact subscription has been slashed from ₦71,000 to₦30,000 whilst DSTV Zapper decoder dish kit plus a month Compact subscription was also reduced from its previous price of ₦18,500 to ₦12,500.
Additionally, the DSTV Compact bouquet has two new SuperSport channels: SuperSport 11 (DStv channel 231) and SuperSport 12 (DStv channel 232), which will be dedicated to airing live matches from the EPL and La Liga respectively.
The Managing Director of MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe spoke to newsmen at a press conference to announce the offerings and said, “We’re excited that we can now deliver the best football action in the world to our Compact subscribers while ensuring that this development doesn’t negatively impact them financially.”
The new development comes hours after the Nigerian Senate summoned the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission and the Consumer Protection Council over alleged excesses of DStv in Nigeria.
