Nigerian Producer Kiddominant etched his name in history as the first Nigerian producer whose music went platinum in South Africa. He made the disclosure in a tweet earlier in the week:

The Afrobeat producer made the tweet from Sandton, South Africa after receiving a plaque from the Recording Industry of South Africa (RISA). This was following the massive sales of his 2017 work, ‘Fall’ by Davido. The song sold an excess of 40,000 copies in SA. Davido had also received plaques for two of his hit singles ‘If’ and ‘Fall’ which likewise sold platinum in the country.
Ayoola Oladapo Agboola (I), aka Kiddominant, began his music recording career in 2011. He has worked with several artistes including Davido, Wizkid, Wale, Mr Eazi, Popcaan, DJ Neptune, Aka, DJ Maphorisa, Mayorkun and Orezi. Kiddominant, who before now was best known for producing ‘Rihanna’ by Orezi, ‘Mama’ by Mayorkun and DJ Neptune’s ‘Marry’, was one of Pulse Nigeria’s Top 10 Music Producers in Nigeria for 2017.
According to RISA, a single must have sold over 10,000 units to be certified Gold, and 20,000 units for Platinum. Going Diamond will require 10 times the benchmark for platinum- 200,000 copies or more.
