Diamond Bank Plc, a leading player in the Nigerian retail banking space, has, through its Diamond BusinessXpress Seminar, provided training in cash budgeting for budding entrepreneurs.
As part of its effort to increase the capacity of Micro, Small and Medium-scale Entreprises (MSME), the seminar held in Owerri, Imo State marks the bank’s 40th edition of the BusinessXpress aimed at building managerial capacity and institutionalized processes within the sector. Discussions were held on core issues pertaining to the MSME business sector.
Stanley Akwara, Diamond Bank Regional Manager, Owerri, expressed the bank’s desire to go beyond providing financial services to MSMEs but to look into creating value for them. “When we help MSMEs build their capacity, they will be able to run their organisations better, make profit and do more business with us. In that way, we can jointly impact the society effectively,” he said.
According to Mr. Akwara, Diamond Bank has invested billions of naira in the MSME sector and sometimes these loans are given without collateral.
