  US-based music icon and CEO of AMP Global Technologies, Derrick N. Ashong has developed a platform where African up-and-coming musicians can thrive and build an active fanbase.

The two-time Emmy finalist and Billboard-recognized Hip Hop songwriter founded Take Back The Mic (TBTM), which allows consumers to determine their favourite up-and-coming music artistes based on the content they’ve been engaging with. This October, Derrick Ashong will launch The Mic: Africa -a spin-off of TBTM aimed at connecting African music, arts, and culture with fans of the diaspora worldwide. Who is the Founder? Derrick Ashong is a US-based musician, who was born in Ghana but spent most of his childhood around the world. He attended Harvard University, where he excelled as an intellectual and as an artist. Derrick would go on to become an Emmy- nominated TV host and producer, a Hollywood actor, and a Billboard-recognized Hip Hop songwriter.

With a passion to help budding musicians live out their dreams, Derrick founded AMP Global. The Mic: Africa is his latest project aimed at promoting African musicians.
