ConnectNigeria_DemoAfrica DEMO Africa is pleased to announce 40 entrepreneurs that have been selected for this year’s DEMO Africa conference launch to be held in Lagos Nigeria on September 22 – 26. The process of selection for the 40 finalist was three rigorous processes ofscreening with the final vetting and adjudication by a pan-African panel of judges comprised of entrepreneurs, VCs and the Academia. They included Dele Akinsade, Bob Mbori, Victor Okigbo, Lukonga Lidunda, Martin Butler, Rebecca Enonchong, Stephen Gugu, Ali Hussein, Muchiri Nyaga, Toby Shapshak, Moses Sitati and Richard Tanksley. From all over Africa came in more than 400 highly innovative applications. They were then shortlisted to 242 ventures before a final selection of 40 was made. These ventures chosen addressed opportunities in Agriculture, Health, Education, Manufacturing, Retail, Media & Entertainment, Communication, Transport and Logistics, Energy, Finance & Banking, Real Estate, Water & Sanitation, and Waste Management & Recycling. The DEMO Africa Conference Launch 2014 will allow these 40 entrepreneurs present their plans to a global audience of investors, media, strategic buyers, C-level executives and other entrepreneurs. The countries featured among the 40 entrepreneurs are from countries such as Zimbabwe, Uganda, Cameroon, Benin, Tunisia, Ethiopia, South Africa, Tanzania, and Rwanda. Nigeria takes the largest chunk of the final 40, followed by Kenya, Ghana and Egypt.
