The NEA Awards took over the Nigerian airwaves as the nominees for the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards were announced yesterday through an effectively coordinated media campaign led by Beat FM, Cool FM, Rhythm FM, Star FM and UDR Radio simultaneously at 4.00 pm Lagos time.
This year’s nominees include reigning sensations Tiwa Savage and Davido, who both led the pack with five nomination nods each in the music category with both going head to head for the Hottest Single of the Year. Also bagging multiple nominations in the music categories are Flavour, Wizkid and Don Jazzy all with four nominations apiece. Olamide, Patroranking, Chidinma and Oritse Femi round up the top pack with three nominations apiece.
In the film category, Accident and Finding Mercy both reigned with three nominations each. The film Accident bagged nominations for Best Actress in Lead Role for Chioma Chukwuka, Best Picture and Best Director. Desmond Elliot bagged multiple awards as Director of Finding Mercy and for his role in the movie for Best Supporting Actor.
