This has been crowned the worlds most popular detox drink. I was introduced to it by my cousin, who got to hear about it from a friend who heard it from a friend. 🙂
The cucumber water detox is not only simple to make, it has incredible health benefits. You instantly feel good when you take a cup. It combines lemon juice, ginger, and mint leaves.
Lemon
Lemon water makes for a powerful detox drink. Lemons are high in vitamin C, which is a primary antioxidant that helps protect cells from damaging free radicals. It is well known as a useful treatment for kidney stones, reducing strokes, and lowering body temperature.
Mint
Mint adds a touch of sweetness without the sugar, and it also helps settle your stomach and aids in digestion. The aroma of the herb activates the salivary glands in your mouth as well as glands which secrete the digestive enzymes, thereby facilitating digestion.
Ginger
Ginger contains compounds that have demonstrated protective effects for the brain. One of them, known as 6-Shogaol, inhibited the release and expression of redness-causing chemicals known to cause damage to neurons in both in vitro and in vivo models. Ginger has repeatedly demonstrated powerful blood sugar balancing effects. It acts on insulin release and sensitivity and supports the metabolism of carbohydrates and lipids.
Cucumbers
Cucumbers are 95 percent water, keeping the body hydrated while helping the body eliminate toxins. Cucumbers have most of the vitamins the body needs in a single day. Due to its low calorie and high water content, cucumber is an ideal diet for people who are looking for weight loss
Imagine all these health benefits in a chilled glass!
Recipe
- 2 liters of water
- 1 lemon
- 1 medium cucumber
- 2 tablespoons of grated ginger
- 10 mint leaves

Put the mint leaves to boil in a jug containing hot water. Let it sit for five minutes, then keep aside. Proceed to squeeze out the juice from the lemons, you can let the lemon sit in hot water for a while to make juice extraction easier. After obtaining the juice, add it to the cup of water containing the mint leaves. Then cut the cucumbers into thin slices and add to the cup and add the grated ginger.
Add more water enough to fill the jug and keep in the fridge.
