Nigerian Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has moved to suspend all sporting activities in the country, owing to the outbreak of the corona virus in Nigeria. The ban is inclusive of qualification tournaments for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. This move comes after President Muhammadu Buhari approved the postponement of the National Sports Festival 2020 which was originally billed to hold in Edo State this year, and the suspension of the National Youth Service Corp orientation camps program to ensure the government monitor updates on the situation domestically and internationally.
