Transportation is a core part of the tourism experience. Without it, it would be impossible to see all the amazing natural and man-made wonders in Nigeria and around the world. But local tourism is best when you have reliable drivers to handle movement around your vicinity― TSGi Transport Solutions to the rescue. Imagine having a city tour with a driver who says he will show up at 8 am but comes at 10 am. Or a driver who spends hours to reach a destination that should not take more than a few minutes and then overcharges you for it. Horrible scenarios. You can avoid both of these scenarios if you had access to reliable drivers. That’s what TSGi Transport Solutions: a transport support firm that made it into Connect Nigeria Top 100 Emerging SMEs, offers. They emerged at the 19th position with 324 votes in the Top 100 Emerging SME campaign organised by Connect Nigeria and sponsored by Union Bank Plc. TSGi Transport Solutions is on a mission to revitalise transport models and systems in Africa by specialising in creating tech-enabled solutions, insights and investments since August 2013. TSGi Transport solutions have created two tech-driven apps to solve some problems in the transport industry – the TSGi Aid and TSGi DriverApp. The problems they solve and the solutions provided are: Problem: Inefficient transport service Solution: With the TSGi DriverApp, you can request for a full-time driver in less than 5 minutes and the driver you will get is one that is well-trained, well behaved and reliable. You don’t have to deal with changing driver fees because your payment is made to TSGi which handles the drivers’ full-time management including payouts and benefits. Divers have quarterly training workshop where any issues with their services are addressed to ensure proper representation of the company. With the TSGi DriverAPP, both Individuals and Companies (including travel/tour agencies) can request for the services of a full-time driver. The TSGi DriverApp is available on Andriod and iOS platforms for free. Problems: Unemployment, a secondary source of income & depreciation loss on investment. Solution: The TSGI Aid is a digital platform that makes it easy for investors to get a security when they invest their reserved funds. Since getting into the transportation business can be difficult for those who already have a primary business or 9-5 jobs, investing in TSGi Aid provides extra cash for anyone looking for a secondary source of income. Investors get what they invest with a 31% ROI paid to them after every 6 months. Providing the funds makes it easy for the platform to help reduce unemployment by creating access to these invested funds for anyone looking to get involved in the transport business but lack the funds. They get not only funds but an opportunity to leverage the company’s expertise and experience. According to Mr Wole Okusanya, Founder and CEO of TSGi, TSGi is, “… currently, focused on private taxis, which is the most lucrative for now. The investor funds are used to get required vehicles, relevant licences, tracking devices and adequate insurance packages which make the investment 100% secured.” In the words of Mr Wole Okusanya, “By operating with a shared business model, we are not only reducing unemployment and creating investment opportunities. We are also uniting communities and creating a free flow of wealth which is very important for developing countries.” Watch out for this company and the many more innovative tech-enabled ideas it may spring up for our transportation industry.
