On Saturday, 18th April, 2015, writers, bloggers and poets across Lagos found their way to Protea Hotel, Ikoyi for Connect Nigeria’s annual Writers’ Conference. The event, which is a CSR initiative of Connect Nigeria had renowned writing experts such as Efe Paul (Poet), Ope Great (Publisher), Joy Bewaji (Author), Ike Nnaebue (Movie Director/Screenwriter), Uduak Isong (Scriptwriter) and Okechukwu Ofili (Author) speak to the attendees about the business of writing and how to be a great writer. The first Writers’ Conference inspired Mirian Chibuzor to finally publish her book “The Girl Who Found Water” and the attendees learnt how to monetize their craft. This year’s event, themed “The Business of Writing 2” provided more hands on training and inspired more writers and aspiring writers to improve their craft. Topics discussed at the conference include: 1. Writing a winning screenplay 2. The business of spoken word 3. The A-Z of starting a Publishing company 4. How to write and self-publish your book 5. How to monetize your blog.   At the end of the event, everyone left with priceless nuggets of wisdom and memories of a great day.
