ConnectNigeria_Commonwealth Nigeria won silver in the women’s 4×400 relay and women’s 4×100 relay races. In the 4×400 race, the quartet of Patience George, Regina George, Ada Benjamin, and Folashade Abugan came second behind Jamaica. Team Nigeria finished on 3.24.71 seconds behind Jamaica who won gold with a time of 3.23.82 seconds. Meanwhile, England came third after finishing in 3.27.24 seconds. In the 4×100 relay race, Nigeria was represented by Gloria Asumnu, Blessing Okagbare, Dominique Duncan and Lauretta Ozoh and finished second with a time of 42.92 seconds. Jamaica, who finished first to win the gold medal in a time of 41.83 seconds, set a Commonwealth Games record for the world leading time in 2014, while England finished third with at 43.10 seconds.
