 uzoenyi eagles action~3

It has been a rejuvenated experience for the home-based Eagles at the ongoing African Nations Championship holding in South Africa. After conceding to a defeat to Mali in its first match, the Super Eagles still ended the group stage qualifying for the quarter finals with two consecutive victories against Mozambique and South Africa. It is a herculean task pinpointing the most outstanding performer within the Super Eagles team, but one player seems to be showing class as he goes about his business in CHAN. Christantus Ejike Uzoenyi, born 23 March 1988, is an international calibre winger for the Enugu Rangers. Uzoenyi has played club football in Nigeria for Enyimba of Aba and Enugu Rangers, and for Rennes in France. He made his international debut for Nigeria in 2012, and has appeared in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. He was called up to Nigeria’s 23-man squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. Uzoenyi currently stands out as arguably our best player and showed it with a master class performance against South Africa on Sunday where he scored a stunner for the first and showed nice inter play as he finished off a good one-two exchange with Salami. This brilliant performance is coming at a time when the Eagles are in desperate need of a player who can single-handedly change the tide of a game. This team which started the tournament with a ‘big stage’ phobia is now looking like a team that can sink any opponent. All thanks to the showmanship of Christantus Ejike Uzoenyi.
