The Nigeria Prize for Patriotism (NPP), an initiative from The Nedola Initiative Limited, is calling for nominations from well-meaning Nigerians for the NPP.

With a mission to build an excellent Nigeria through the promotion of patriotism amongst Nigerians, the Nigeria Prize for Patriotism seeks to encourage allegiance and loyalty to Nigeria among Nigerians.

The categories for the prize are:

  1. Education
  2. Sports
  3. Health
  4. Security
  5. Civil Service
  6. Governance
  7. Business
  8. Media
  9. Agriculture
  10. Entertainment

Speaking on the prize, Fela Durotoye CEO of the GEMSTONE Group said “The spirit of patriotism is what I call the spirit of nation building, patriots are the people who carry a spirit that makes them not just citizen of a nation, but custodians of that nation. You know citizens are people who know their right and the benefit they are supposed to get from a nation, but custodians understand that in a sense they not only have rights and benefits, and that’s true, but they have obligation and responsibilities. The Spirit of Patriotism is the Spirit of Custodians”
