The Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME), in collaboration with The Republic Media, hosted the 2nd edition of Nigeria’s Annual SME Forum for Retail and Distribution Trade on 28th March, 2015. The event took place at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. It was well attended by various SME owners and representatives of solution providing bodies including Konga, Digital Republic, GEMS3, W-Holistic Business Solutions and the UK Trade and Investment. NASME functions as the umbrella advocacy body for all registered SMEs in Nigeria. It helps its members secure access to funding provision as well as training, technology and capacity building opportunities. With over 17 million SMEs in the country, the importance of NASME in supporting these businesses can not be overlooked. Topics covered during the forum: the available opportunities in agro-businesses, the keys to successful SME entrepreneurship, and ways to promote business activities using technology and online marketing. It was truly an engaging event and we look forward to experiencing sustainable progress in the country’s SME sector as a result of the lessons learnt from this event.
