Futureview is a Nigerian investment banking company headquartered in Lagos. It provides a range of financial services to individual and institutional clients, including investment portfolio management, corporate finance advisory, and foreign exchange. The company tailors each of these services to meet the specific needs of each of its clients.
With branches in Abuja and Port Harcourt, Futureview is able to cater to a broad selection of customers situated across the country. This group consists of High Net-Worth Individuals, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs), large corporations, institutional investors, banks, and public sector concerns.
Futureview was Incorporated in 1993 and commenced operations three years later. In the decades that followed, it grew into a major player in Nigeria’s investment banking space. In 2003, it was one of only two financial advisors appointed by the Federal Government to advise on the government’s issuance of a ₦150 billion bond to the public. Its expertise in Issuing House and Investment Advisory services made it sought after by banks that were raising capital in order to comply with the capital requirements set by the CBN in 2005.
Closer to the present, Fututeview has built and strengthened relationships with several major banks in Nigeria, as well as in the United Kingdom and Switzerland. It also has connections with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and is a representative to Africa for the European Economic Development Council (EEDC). The company is registered with the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) and licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The services available from Futureview are delivered via its four subsidiaries: Futureview Securities Limited, Futureview Financial Services Limited, Futureview Asset Management Limited, and Futureview Bureau de Change. Through these sub-entities, it provides advisory, stockbroker, asset management, and foreign exchange services to its numerous clientele.
Futureview Securities Limited offers security trading and comprehensive market information services to individual and corporate clients. The latter can get help from Futureview with new issues, listing and quotation on the Nigerian Stock Markets, retainers (for already listed companies), and fixed income trading.
Pension Fund Administrators, Insurance Companies, and Fund Managers can have their investments managed by Futureview. The firm provides advisory support and security dealing services to clients in these categories, whether they are located within or outside Nigeria. Retirees can work with Futureview to define a plan for managing their resources during their retirement so that they are able to maintain a decent living standard.
The company supplies corporate and financial advisory services to organizations that want to raise funds from the capital market. They help institutions to secure debt or equity financing through Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), Private Placements, Privatization, Intermediation, Loan Syndication, and Project Finance.
The Bureau de Change service on offer from Futureview can be accessed at its locations in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. This service is designed for individuals, SMEs, and corporate organizations. The Bureau de Change promises competitive market rates, fast, secure, and reliable transportation, and bespoke customer care.
Futureview’s abilities in fund and portfolio management derive from the cumulative years of experience and expertise of its team, amounting to over 300 transactions. Its strengths in this space are widely recognized.
The firm was appointed by the National Council on Privatization (NCP) as a lead stockbroker for the transfer of shares to institutional investors. It was a member of the CBN’s Technical Committee on the bank’s recapitalization. And in 2012, it was appointed a primary market maker for selected equities at the Nigerian Stock Exchange following an extended selection process.
Futureview runs with a vision of becoming the leading investment bank in the world. It’s a tough aim to reach, but Futureview appears determined to achieve it, regardless of how improbable it seems to be.
