DCSL Corporate Services Limited provides governance, company secretarial, executive recruitment and business advisory services to various corporate organizations across Nigeria. Headquartered in Lagos, DCSL also has a functioning branch in Abuja. From these two locations, it delivers a range of corporate and legal solutions to its many clients.
For as long as Nigeria’s formal commercial space has existed, businesses operating within it have had a need for the sort of services that DCSL offers. They have had to scout for capable people to join their teams, run efficient organizational hierarchies, and seek legal counsel in matters at the intersection of business and law. Given the high and ever-growing demand for these, it’s little wonder that DCSL has thrived for as long as it has.
The company began as the Tax and Regulatory Unit of Akintola Williams Deloitte, and operated with the name ‘DTT Services’. It provided secretarial services to clients of its parent company. In 1999, it was incorporated as a legal entity and took the name ‘DTT Services Limited’. It gained full autonomy in 2011 and changed its name to DCSL Corporate Services Limited in 2013.
In the time since it became an independent entity, DCSL has added several new services to its offerings. In doing so, it has gained many more clients and strengthened its place as a leader in Nigeria’s corporate solutions space. Its newer services include legal aid, support for matters touching on immigration, virtual offices, and training.
DCSL provides Human Resource Consulting Services, ranging from recruitment services to HR outsourcing. The company helps businesses plan and execute their hiring processes for entry-level, senior, executive, and semi-skilled positions. They also take on employee onboarding, training and development, staff audit, and HR relationship management.
Contemporary organizations need to function in line with properly defined governance frameworks if they are to succeed. DCSL works with the boards at larger scale companies to build and implement working governance systems. They do this with governance reviews, board evaluations, director selection, and remuneration surveys. And they codify client business charters and policies so that they serve as roadmaps to organizational success.
DCSL handles secretarial duties for several firms as well. These duties cover the scheduling of meetings of boards of directors, board committees, and general meetings; providing documentation relevant to these meetings; filing statutory returns such as annual reports and resolutions; and maintaining statutory registers, including the register of directors, minute books, and share certificate booklets, among others.
Companies looking to hire non-Nigerians need to abide by local regulations concerning the recruitment of foreigners. DCSL helps such companies to obtain work permits and expatriate quota approvals for their non-Nigerian recruits, and processes their visas and work permits. It offers other immigration-related advisory services too.
DCSL also assists foreign organizations looking to set up in Nigeria with regulatory issues. It advises them on such things as assuming the most efficient and legally compliant structure possible, sharing capital structure, and the composition of their boards. It works with them to obtain approvals from relevant regulatory bodies in their industry.
