Foremost Nigerian gospel rap artist, Bouqui, has released a video for her second single, King David.
The first single, titled Victory Song, was released a few weeks ago. Both songs will be part of the body of work which will be released as the rap artist’s fifth studio album.
Bouqui
Bouqui was born Bukola Folayan. Her Christian faith has influenced her music and is the basis on which her brand was created. Bouqui was a member of an all-girl music group called the G-Vibes. Her music took a more urban and contemporary style after she went solo. Her stage name is an acronym for Born Once More Unto A Quickened And Unparalleled Image.
Her debut album was titled B.O.U.Q.U.I and contained fourteen tracks and four skits. The album and her subsequent songs got her several awards including the Hip-Hop World Award in 2003 and the AMEN awards in 2007 for the best female act.
The “Molejo” singer founded her record label, Bouqui’s Place Entertainment, in 2009 and has continued to be a resounding voice in the Nigerian gospel rap scene.
