In a rather sad turn of events, Nigerian international Chinedu Obasi and six other players who joined the English club on short term deals, will not have their contracts renewed after expiration.
The 31-year old Nigerian, who joined the Bolton Wanderers in March, signed a pay-as-you-play contract and all indications point that the player will have a whole lot to do on is released into the market.

The former Schalke 04 player failed to make a single appearance for the Trotters.
Since starting his senior career, the player has featured for six clubs, Lyn from (2005-2007), TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (2007-20012), Schalke 04 (20012-2015), AIK (2016), Shenzhe (2017) and Bolton Wanderers (2018-present).
For the Nigerian national team, Chinedu Obasi was part of the Nigerian team that won silver in the 2005 FIFA World Cup Youth Championship, he was also in the team that won silver in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, In 2010 he also was in the team that won Bronze in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Bolton Wanderers coach, Phil Parkinson, thanked the players for their dedication and contribution to the club during their time.

The six other players include midfielders Jem Karacan, Chris Taylor and Jan Kirchhoff, goalkeeper Mark Howard, and central defenders Dorian Dervite and Derik Osede.
Manager Phil will meet up with other out -of-contract players next week to decide their faith.
