ConnectNigeria-Bino-and-Fino Bino and Fino, an African educational cartoon created by Nigerian animator Adamu Waziri, and produced by his Nigerian based animation company is changing the face of children’s entertainment and is now in its second season. This ground-breaking cartoon is about a brother and sister living in a city in Sub-Saharan Africa and it celebrates the beauty and diversity of the African continent, of African parents and those of the Caribbean and African descent. In each episode of Bino and Fino, with the help of their friend, Zeena the magic butterfly and their family, they observe and learn things about the world. With the target audience being children between the ages of 3-6 years, the series seeks to educate children of all backgrounds on aspects of African history, culture and languages. Adamu Waziri , the brain behind Bino and Fino, believes that there is a hunger for such programmes in an ever-growing multicultural society and as a result, he and his team have responded to this need through the creation of Bino and Fino. The pilot episode of Bino and Fino was released in 2010 and was well received internationally with profiles on CNN and The Huffington Post. A 24-minute TV feature of the show which is available on DVD has also been broadcast on television in the UK and South Africa, YouTube, at festivals and to a growing fan base of kids and parents from around the world. The full second season is currently under production in Nigeria by EVCL and is set to be released at the end of 2014.
