In 2012, Bing introduced its social search sidebar. The social search sidebar allows users find results from what their friends form their social network has shared. Users find results from Facebook, Twitter, Google +, Quora, Foursquare and other social networks

Now, Microsoft is integrating 5 times more facebook content to Bing’s social search results. You’ll find status, comments. Links and even photos of what your facebook friends have shared.  According to Microsoft, it’s now “easier to see who knows and what they’ve shared related to your search. So when your friends aren’t around, Bing is the perfect stand-in.”

Speaking about Facebook’s privacy settings, Microsoft says, “Nothing is shared automatically; you only see what your friends give you permission to see (though their Facebook settings) so you only share what you want to share.”
