We usually don’t pay attention to small details that might be getting in the way of having that spotless clear African skin we desire. Make it a duty to adopt these 8 beauty habits. It’s easy, just make them a part of your everyday routine and enjoy the benefits…
  • Meditate
Even if it’s for at least 5 minutes. It’s about blocking out any negative energy or distractions, and maintaining focus with your inner peace, or finding your inner peace. It’s beneficial because it gives you increased memory, improves concentration, reduces stress level, encourages a healthy lifestyle and slows aging.
  • Take off your make-up every night
Very important. When you go to bed with the make-up you wore all day, the sebum and sweat will clog your pores causing them to potentially become blemishes, rashes and blackheads.
  • Cleanse your face in the morning as well as in the evening
When we sleep, our skin produces oil, plus we also sweat what with our hot weather in our region. So by cleansing in the morning, any excess daub is gently removed keeping the pores clean and clear and preventing blemishes.
  • Exercise
It doesn’t necessarily have to be strenuous like going to the gym every now and then.  A little jog in the morning or an evening stroll would do. To make it more fun you could play music at the comfort of your house and dance just to move your body.
  • Eat lots of antioxidants
Fruits help in skin rejuvenation, boosting your immune system and improvement of skin texture. Sure you can use very good moisturizers (which you should by the way), but add fruit as well. They nourish the skin from inside out. Eating fruits rich in antioxidants help to stop cell death which causes premature aging. Vitamins E, C and A are skin protectors which disarm free radicals that encourage cell growth.
  • Get your beauty sleep
Stress can accelerate aging. If you want your skin to look younger and healthier let your skin repair itself at night and you should aim for 7-8 hours of sleep. This will make you to be a happier person the next day. When you don’t get enough sleep you tend to be cranky. Getting enough sleep also prevents eye bags, a dull lifeless complexion and saggy skin.
  • Use face SPF daily
A statement from the skin cancer foundation shows that more than 90% of the visible skin changes associated with aging is caused by the sun’s UV rays they are fierce anti-agers. You could protect your face from ultraviolent rays by using sunglasses or baseball cap but most importantly using a spectrum sunscreen with SPF would ensure better protection. SPF could be inside your make-up or moisturizer but you need a separate broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 20-50 for when you would spend a long time in the sun. Please use whether the sun is out or not.
  • Recite affirmations before starting out your day
Our thoughts and affirmations can direct us towards a happy life or painful life. If we say positive things to ourselves we focus on the good and our life will improve. But if you focus on the negative things around us, it’ll cause us to lead an unhappy life.  And mind you, Joy is a key ingredient to a healthy living. Look yourself in the mirror every morning and tell yourself you can take whatever the world throws at you:
  • I love myself and accept me the way I am
  • I can do anything
  • I am successful
  • I am in control of my life
  • I am important
By saying this you start to believe in yourself and how much you can accomplish. When you have a Healthy and glowing skin it helps build up your self esteem and boosts your confidence.
