The Farmers for the Future (F4F) Grant represents an Agricultural Entrepreneurship initiative aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs through equity-free funding and comprehensive business support to help expand their agricultural ventures.

This program is a collaborative effort between the British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), with implementation handled by FATE Foundation. The initiative specifically targets active NYSC members as part of BATNF’s commitment to promoting youth participation in sustainable agricultural practices.

Program Structure

This virtual capacity-building program focuses on delivering crucial knowledge, strategic insights, practical skills, and essential tools needed to establish sustainable agribusiness enterprises.

Industry experts and professionals from the agricultural and entrepreneurship sectors will lead the sessions, employing pedagogical methods that foster networking opportunities and promote collaborative learning through teamwork.

The comprehensive learning framework combines interactive virtual classes, hands-on workshops, real-world case studies, plenary discussions, and collaborative group exercises.

The F4F curriculum has been crafted to equip emerging and aspiring agribusiness entrepreneurs with valuable insights and practical knowledge, helping them identify various market opportunities and develop structured business frameworks for strategic growth.

The intensive curriculum covers:
  • Entrepreneurial mindset development.
  • Design thinking, innovation, and problem-solving approaches.
  • Business plan creation.
  • Business Model Canvas methodology.
  • Product development strategies.
  • Marketing and digital marketing techniques.
  • Business operations management.
  • Financial literacy fundamentals.
  • Business presentation and pitching skills.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Young Nigerian entrepreneurs with established, viable agricultural businesses.
  • Participation in the interview process (dates, procedures, and venues to be announced).

Program Advantages

Financial Support:

The six top finalists will receive equity-free grants totalling ₦10 million (₦3 million for first place, ₦2 million for second place, and ₦1 million for third place). Connections to financial institutions and investors for additional funding opportunities and credit facilities. Winners receive technical assistance for agribusiness establishment.
