Brief History of the Artiste and His Musical Style

Eben was born on September 9, 1979, in Lagos, Nigeria, as the fifth of six children in a deeply Christian family. He attended Orile Primary School and Community Grammar School, Orile, where he first nurtured his love for music and worship. Mentored by his elder brother, he began his musical journey as a rapper in 1997 but soon discovered a passion for singing. His breakout came in 2005 when “Imaranma” debuted at a youth conference organized by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s Christ Embassy. Eben’s artistry is characterized by a fusion of contemporary gospel and Afro‑pop with hip‑hop and dance elements, all underpinned by fervent worship sensibilities. His sonic versatility allows him to minister through reflective ballads as well as high‑energy praise anthems.
