Saturday’s match may very well be the most entertaining match Arsenal has been in ages, despite their bleak 3-1 defeat to the Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium. Super Eagles forward, A. Iwobi, was on target for Arsenal, as they played a superb attacking game that led them to dominate every turn of the matchup, save the scoreboard. The Nigerian forward, took to the pitch 15′ minutes into the game, as a substitute for the injured defender, Shkodran Mustafi. In just four minutes into the game, Manchester United’s A Valencia, assisted by P. Pogba, capitalized on Arsenal’s defence flaws and put in the first goal of the match-up. Seven minutes later, Man Utd were two goals up, after Romelu Lukaku snatched the ball from Germany defender, Shkodran Mustafi, in a brilliant attack and passed it on to Anthony Martial, who sent it in the way of Lingard, who made the attack every bit worth it with a superb finish. Arsenal left no stones unturned in their bid to equalize coming within an inch of a goal before the end of the first half. Four minutes into the second half, Arsenal’s Alexandre Laccazette, made his way to the scoreboard, with an assist from A. Ramsey. In the 63rd minute, J. Lingard shot his second goal into the back of the Gunner’s net with another brilliant assist from Pogba to put Man Utd back in a solid two-goal lead. Despite putting up one of their finest games so far, Arsenal could not close on any of their 15 shots on target, making Manchester United, the only team to successfully defeat Arsenal in the Emirates Stadium since March.
