As the 1st MoC Grand Prix & Relays becomes only a memory, athletes who participated in the event and did remarkably well received their winnings from the Total Prize Money of ₦1,205,000 over the weekend. A total of 86 athletes benefited from the reward money for their dazzling recitals across the 22 Individual Events and 5 Relay Events at the maiden edition of the MoC Grand Prix & Relays.

Top earners

Emmanuel Arowolo and Yinka Ajayi were the top earners from the competition, both earning ₦47,000 each from their events. Arowolo competed in the Men’s 100m & 200m Sprint Double and the 4x100m with Team Customs, winning all three events;e Ajayi won the Women’s 400m & 200m Double and the Mixed 4x400m with Team Blessed. Right behind them are MoC’s Jerry Jakpa with a total earning of ₦38,000 and Onome Nathaniel of Team Blessed who won ₦37,000. Jakpa came in 2nd in the Men’s 100m, 200m and 4x100m, and 3rd in the Mixed 4x400m. Onome on the other hand was 1st in Women’s 400mHurdlesand Mixed 4x400m, and came in 3rd in Women’s 200m.

The MoC Grand Prix & Relays committee expressed their joy for a successful event via their website. MoC thanked their Official Media Sponsor, Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN), for ensuring there was a full medical team and ambulance available on all three days.
