  The Public Diplomacy Section at the United States Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria, is inviting applications from high-achieving, low-income Nigerian students at the graduate and undergraduate levels of study to apply for the US Embassy Education Grant Opportunity.

It is a program aimed at promoting US higher education opportunities.

To be considered eligible for the program:

  • The applicant must be a not-for-profit organization, think tank, or civil society/non-governmental organization.
  • Public and private educational institutions are eligible.
  • Public international organizations and governmental institutions are eligible.
  • All organizations interested in the program must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) issued via SAM.gov as well as a valid registration in SAM.gov.
  • Applicants are only allowed to submit one proposal per organization. If an organization submits more than one proposal, all their proposals will be considered ineligible for funding.

The US Embassy Education Grant Opportunity aims to reward 40 high-achieving Nigerian students who are likely to receive full funding from US colleges and universities but do not have the resources to cover necessary costs.

  • Visa fees.
  • SEVIS fees, and
  • Settling-in expenses.
