  The Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development in Africa has announced applications for the Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge. The program will empower young Africans by turning their ideas, skills, and passion into business ventures or social enterprises that are scalable.

The Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge is a competition geared towards challenging the creativity and audacity of young Africans to be innovative and survive as entrepreneurs. As part of the program, every applicant passes through a compulsory boot camp and pitching competitions where the best business ideas are selected for financial and technical reward from the Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development.

To be eligible for this program

  • The applicant must be a Nigerian citizen who is based in Nigeria.
  • You must be between the ages of 18 and 40 years.
  • The applicant must have an innovative idea that can be transformed into a business or social enterprise.
  • There is no preference for any sector of the economy.
  • The program is interested in early startups and applicants whose businesses are at the ideation stage.

Participants stand the opportunity of winning any of the following:
  • 1st Prize (N2 million)
  • 2nd Prize (N1 million)
  • 3rd Prize (N700,000)
  • 4th Prize (N500,000)
  • 5th Prize (N300,000)
  • Consolation Prizes (N100,000) each for the remaining 6th–10th finalists.
