  Applications are currently ongoing for the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Japan (OIST) Internship Program for fall 2025.

The OIST Internship Program is an internship targeted at international students and will take place from October 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. The minimum duration for the internship is three months, while the maximum duration is six months. The internship is open to bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. students and those who recently graduated. Applicants from every part of the globe are invited to apply. Also, there is no application fee or IELTS. Interns will work on a research project under the guidance of an OIST supervisor.

Some of the benefits of the internship include:

  • A daily internship allowance of JPY 2,400.
  • Provision will be made for a commuting allowance.
  • Travel expenses will be covered through a one-direct round-trip air ticket.
  • Provision will be made for accommodation.
  • OIST will assist foreign interns with the acquisition of a visa, insurance procedure, and local registration.

  • An updated curriculum vitae
  • Statement of Interest (400 words)
  • A letter of recommendation
  • Academic Transcript (Scanned copies)
  • ID Photo (recent one)
