  Applications are now open for the MasterCard Foundation Fund for Resilience and Prosperity Agribusiness Challenge. This initiative is a follow-up to the MasterCard Foundation Fund for Rural Prosperity, an eight-year program that was launched in 2014. That earlier intervention supported 38 participants from 15 countries to build solutions that have positively affected the lives of rural dwellers, especially people involved in agriculture.

Following the success of the MasterCard Foundation Fund for Rural Prosperity, the MasterCard Foundation Fund for Resilience and Prosperity Agribusiness Challenge was launched in 2023. This is a $126 million fund that is designed to support SMEs involved in the agriculture, climate adaptation, and digital economy sectors. It is built to drive enterprise growth and power the creation of fulfilling work for young people.

Eligibility

This program is open to persons who meet the following criteria:
  • SME must be innovative and commercially viable
  • Must create dignified and fulfilling work opportunities
  • Be from one of the 20 countries targeted by the program (Nigeria being on that list)
